Alcohol Hand Sanitizer Set Off HazMat Alarm

From Houston, TX
Humble Fire Department officials said a suspicious package delivered to Eastex Veterinary Clinic by FedEx around 1:30 p.m. May 19 did not contain harmful substances.

The Harris County HazMat team used monitors to test the air and found no dangerous elements, said Humble FD Capt. E. Niemeyer.

“They then took the vial to the HazMat truck and found out it was some kind of alcohol-based hand sanitizer,” Niemeyer said. “The writing on the bottle was in a foreign language and there was a letter included, but it was not hostile.”
